Updates & Announcements
Additional information about the renovation projects listed on this page can be found in the Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The plan was adopted in 2019 and will provide guidance for parks, recreation facilities and programs meeting community needs through 2035. The plan is a result of an 18 month process that included community engagement of community members sharing their ideas. Check back often for updates on these Master Plan projects.
Little Woodrose Invasive Species Work
Little Woodrose Nature Park will be undergoing extensive invasive plant removal this spring and summer. During these months a hired contractor will be removing all Laurel, Holly, non-native Cherry, and other non-native trees and shrubs from the park. In addition, the native trees will be cleared of English Ivy and Himalayan Blackberry, with the use of an herbicide spot treatment as needed.
During the late fall and winter months of 2026/2027 our Parks Maintenance crew will begin reforesting the park with native plants such as Douglas Fir, Thimbleberry, Tall Oregon Grape, and Salmonberry. The park will remain open during all of this work, though there may be some difficulty accessing individual sections of trail at certain times.
