Mayor's Note (August 2021)
Over the last few years, we've spent time focusing on what the next forty years will look like for our community. Through the work of Tualatin 2040 and other strategic efforts, we understand that our community will need more residential and commercial lands to accommodate our expected growth and meet state requirements for land use.
With those needs come challenges associated with transportation, infrastructure, density development, and expanded housing options while preserving and enhancing our community identity. As such, we have identified several projects to meet those needs. Potential projects include:
- Herman Road Expansion
- Water and sewer system upgrades
- Blake Street Extension
We have also identified a potential funding source that won't raise taxes: urban renewal. Since July, we have been holding an online open house for individuals to learn more about urban renewal and these projects. Check out our work in the southwestern parts of Tualatin and along Herman Road on our website.
