Mayor's Note (August 2022)
In April, our City Council unanimously approved a list of transportation projects in Tualatin for submittal to Washington County's 2023 - 2028 Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). Those projects include much needed improvements to Boones Ferry Road from Norwood to I-5, the Tualatin-Sherwood Road and Boones Ferry Road Intersection, and the Herman Road and Cipole Road intersection with improvements to Herman Road from Cipole to 124th. Another project on the list that is likely of interest to Tualatin residents is Washington County's Basalt Creek Parkway Extension between Grahams Ferry and Boones Ferry Roads.
Submitting the projects does not mean they will receive funding or be constructed – that is where the community comes in! Washington County is promoting an online open house to educate the public about the projects being considered for the ’23 – ’28 MSTIP and vote on which projects they feel are most important. I encourage you all to visit the open house and provide feedback on which projects you feel are most important for Tualatin.
