Mayor's Note (February 2023)
Each city is a little bit different. Some cities - like our neighbors in Tigard - have a five-member city council, while some have nine. In Tualatin, we have six city councilors and one mayor that together form the Tualatin City Council. Every two years, half of the City Council is up for election. We do not have elections by district in Tualatin, so every member of the City Council is elected at large to serve and represent the entire community.
In November, Councilor Bridget Brooks, Councilor Maria Reyes, and I were all reelected for additional four-year terms. And joining the City Council for his first term is Councilor Octavio Gonzalez. On January 5, we each took the Oath of Office administered by the Honorable Judge Jack Morris. By taking the oath, we each swore to faithfully and honorably serve the City of Tualatin and support the United States Constitution and the State of Oregon Constitution, to the best of our abilities.
View photos from the swearing-in ceremony and read more information about each of us on our website. I also encourage you to reach out to us via email and attend a City Council meeting in the future. We meet every Monday evening at Tualatin City Services, 10699 SW Herman Road.
