Mayor's Note (March 2023)

Mayor Frank Bubenik Headshot

One of our community's top priorities is improved transportation services. Transportation comes up every year when we review our vision for the community and goals for the coming year. One of our vision statements is to have an "efficient, accessible, innovative, sustainable, and connected transportation system that effectively and safely meets the needs of our entire community."

We tackle this in different ways. As you saw already in this newsletter, this will be a big year for our transportation bond program Tualatin Moving Forward . You may have also noticed the Lime e-scooters throughout the community as part of our micro mobility pilot program. We also work regularly with our public transit partners, and I am excited to share a little about the expansion of Tualatin Shuttle service.

In January, John Whitman and Tangerine Behere of Tualatin Shuttle presented to the City Council, giving us a sneak preview of the new green line service between Borland Road and Bridgeport Village. This route will run Monday through Friday between 5:45pm and 7:18pm and will serve Bridgeport Village/Tualatin Park and Ride, Tualatin WES Station, Nyberg Woods, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, Rolling Hills Community Church, Borland Free Clinic, and the Tualatin Food Pantry. Ride Connection also modified the existing blue and red shuttle lines to improve access throughout the community.
