Mayor's Note (November 2023)
What do post-Halloween pumpkins and Thanksgiving turkey bones have in common? You can help turn them into nutrient rich compost, simply by tossing them into the green yard debris bin! Since our pilot program started in July, Tualatin residents have been able to include all kinds of food scraps (“organics”) in the yard debris bin, along with a select number of paper products – yes, even pizza boxes!
Later this month, the Tualatin City Council will decide whether to keep curbside composting in the City of Tualatin and we would love to know your thoughts!
- Do you put food scraps in your yard debris bin? Why or why not?
- Even if you do not, do you like having the option?
- What questions do you have about this service or composting in general?
Give us a shout, learn more, and get a printable list of foods to include on our website.
