Mayor's Note (September 2021)
I know many of you have been following the news of increased COVID-19 cases in our area and the highly transmissible Delta variant. While many of us hoped that we were nearing the end of the pandemic, recent data indicates otherwise.
The best thing you can do to protect yourself and others is to get vaccinated. Washington County's Mobile Vaccine Team has traveled the county to make it easier for people to get the vaccine, including offering clinics in Tualatin. Check their website for upcoming clinic dates and locations.
Throughout the pandemic, we have taken the lead from public health experts. They are working hard to keep our communities safe and are now recommending people wear masks, practice social distancing, and, of course, get vaccinated. I encourage you to take these recommendations seriously, particularly as fall and cooler temperatures approach.
The pandemic has impacted all of us. At the start of each City Council meeting, we hold a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives to COVID-19. We do this to acknowledge and remember the tremendous consequences of the pandemic on our community and the world.
