With Tualatin's regional location and composition as a major employer, finding alternative ways to connect people to jobs impacts the quality of life for all Tualatin residents. Transit service is one of the ways to reduce the amount of traffic while meeting the needs of people to get to their job and home. 

Linking Tualatin is the long-range plan for Tualatin's transit service and investment. City staff helps advocate for further investment in TriMet's Transit Investment Plan (TIP) and grant programs through Metro or Washington County. The following are current transit services offered in Tualatin:    

Light Rail 

TriMet's Westside Express Service (WES) provides a light rail connect from downtown Tualatin to Beaverton (north) and Wilsonville (south). The line runs Monday through Friday during peak commute hours in the morning (6-10am) and afternoon (4-8pm). Contact TriMet at (503) 238-7433 or visit their WES line website

Bus (Regional) 

TriMet's bus lines connect Tualatin to the region through the following routes: 

  • Line 36 connects to Lake Oswego and downtown Portland
  • Line 37 connects to Lake Oswego
  • Line 38 connects to downtown Portland 
  • Line 76 connects to Tigard and Beaverton
  • Line 96 connects to downtown Portland via I-5 (runs every 15-minutes) 
  • Line 97 connects to Sherwood via SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road

South Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) Route 2X bus connects Tualatin with Wilsonville at the Bridgeport Park-and-Ride. Contact SMART online or call 503-682-7790

Bus (Local) 

The Tualatin Shuttle, operated by Ride Connection, provides a “last mile” connection to jobs. It is scheduled to coordinate with TriMet's WES. The shuttle has two fixed routes (north and south of Tualatin-Sherwood Road) that operate Monday through Friday in the morning (5-9:15am) and afternoon (3-7pm).  Click here to see the schedule and route information.
