February 27, 2014, Put Down Roots in Tualatin, Hedges Creek
Thursday, February 27, 2014, 22 Clackamas High School Environmental Studies students volunteered at Hedges Creek at the pedestrian bridge behind the Haggen's shopping center.
Their litter pick up of the area uncovered a chair, two fire extinguishers, various bike parts and a clay pot. Students planted 30 potted Cedar and Ponderosa pine as well as 150 live stakes of Red and Yellow twig dogwood.
Nesting material in the wood duck boxes was replaced and students enjoyed discovering nutria, geese and spring frog sacs.
