Do you want to be a voice at the table for the Southwest Corridor?
The Southwest Corridor Plan is a Metro and TriMet led effort that includes a 12-mile light rail (TriMet MAX) connection from downtown Portland to Bridgeport Village in Tualatin. As light rail planning moves into a more detailed design process, the importance of continued and involved community engagement is more important than ever!
The Southwest Corridor Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will advise staff and the Steering Committee. The staff-led project team will consult with the CAC when weighing technical, regulatory, and cost considerations, recognizing that decisions must be grounded in community values and experience. CAC topics may include:
- Design refinements identified in the Locally Preferred Alternative (e.g. Crossroads, 68th Avenue, etc.)
- Bridgeport Station Park-and-Ride location and station design
- Marquam Hill connector
- PCC Shuttle and 53rd Avenue improvements
- Station access projects for biking, walking, auto, and transit improvements
- Coordination with parallel efforts (e.g. Equitable Development Strategy (SWEDS), Equitable Housing Strategy, Ross Island Bridgehead reconfiguration project, etc.)
Commitment:
- Two-years (begins in January 2019)
- 3 to 5 hours per month (monthly 90-minute evening meeting, plus preparation and coordination time)
- Ability to travel to meeting locations (transit accessible)
- Meetings include food and transit passes
Apply here!
Complete the CAC application and submit by December 7, 2018. Applicants will be notified on their status by January 11, 2019.
