Seatbelt Diversion Program
Municipal Court Seatbelt Diversion Program Eligibility:
Procedure:
Appear at the Tualatin Municipal Court office window to collect the information for the class, any date before the court date listed on the citation. You have 60 days to complete the class and return the certificate of completion to the court. Due to tasks required of the court, the Court Administrator will not be available on a day that court is in session to schedule seatbelt diversion classes, so please plan accordingly. You may request the seatbelt diversion option from the Judge during court proceedings.
- Pay the $65 fee- There is a $65 fee due to the Court at the time you select the seatbelt diversion option.
- Attend a class - The clerk will provide you with a registration form including class instructions. Cost of the class is $40 payable to the organization sponsoring the class.
- Citation Dismissed - When your certificate of completion is filed with the Court, the citation will be dismissed. The citation will not appear as a violation on your DMV record.
