June 20, 2014, Put Down Roots in Tualatin, Timbers Day of Sharing
Timbers Day of Sharing - Give a Tree a Hug! Remove Invasive English ivy
Friday, June 20, 2014 70 enthusiastic volunteers joined forces with the City of Tualatin, the Portland Timbers, Friends of Trees and Hands On Portland to “Give a Tree a Hug!”
The Timbers annual Week of Sharing committed to removing invasive English ivy from the trees and forest floor at Brown’s Ferry Park. Timber Joey and Friends of Trees mascot Garrey the Oak cheered on volunteers as they removed 16 yards of ivy from the park.
Thank you Ardent Mills employees, Timbers players and community members for spending your morning making a difference! Thank you Haggen’s for supplying snacks!
