Teens Making a Difference

in their Community

 

 

 

Fourteen (14) TEENS dedicated over 312 combined volunteer hours as they...
  • · Watered native plantings at Tualatin Community Park (T.C.P.);
  • · Watered and maintained the Jurgens community Garden;
  • · Cleaned tables, shelters, and playground equipment at T.C.P;
  • · Worked with the Tigard-Tualatin Upward Bound Program to create a border that will be home to a new native planting at Ibach Park:
  • · Led a rousing game of “We All Need Trees”;
  • · Fluffed fibar at the Ibach Park Playground:
  • · Painted the Youth Shelter at T.C.P.;
  • · Hosted 14 Japanese Exchange students at T.C.P and played a friendly international  game of soccer. and
  • · Volunteered with Metro at the Native Plant Center and learned about seed banks.

 

Together  they learned the happiness that comes from volunteerism, collaboration, and overcoming obstacles.
