Mechanical Permit Application
Per Community Design Standards of the Tualatin Development Code (TDC), all on and above-grade electrical and mechanical equipment (e.g., transformers, exhaust fans and vents, air conditioning units, gas lines, etc.) require screening. As such, mechanical work involving exterior modifications and requiring mechanical permits from the Building Division are subject to review by the Planning Division.
If you are performing any exterior mechanical work, please provide an exterior elevation showing the work to be performed in your mechanical permit application.
If you are performing any exterior rooftop work—the exception being exact like-for-like replacement equipment—please provide the following in your mechanical permit application:
- Roof plan (with scale and north arrow) that shows rooftop equipment location (with distance dimensions to roof edges).
- Site plan (with scale and north arrow) the shows the entire property and includes the nearest street(s).
- Building elevation that shows proposed rooftop equipment (including dimensions) and other rooftop equipment on subject building; this elevation should include the heights of any building parapets.
Rooftop equipment taller than the height of the building parapet typically requires screening as approved by the Planning Division. Please contact the Planning Division at 503.691.3026 for more information.
