Small Cell Wireless
Small Cell Wireless
In December 2018 Tualatin City Council adopted a revised fee schedule and design guidelines for Small Cell Wireless Facilities in the Right of Way. All structures in the Right of Way are subject to TMC 3-6.
What is a Small Cell Wireless Facility?
Small cell wireless facilities typically take the form of small antennas that are placed on existing infrastructure to help to complement or stretch tower macrocell coverage and add capacity in high-demand areas.
DESIGN
The design guidelines can be found in Section 332 of the Public Works Construction Code.
Fees
Application Fee (only one will apply):
Application Fee | $660 per attachment |
Expedited Application Fee* | $1,160 per attachment |
Consultant Fee for Processing Application** | Actual cost plus 25% for administration |
Annual Attachment Fee | $625 per attachment, per year |
*Voluntary one-time fee for expedited review; review complete within 30 days.
** Fee would be applied in the event the City does not have the capacity to process applications within the legal timeframe.
Application Requirements
- Obtain Right-of-Way license as required in TMC 3-6-205. Only one license is required per Utility Operator.
- Complete Public Utility Permit Application.
- Proof that third-party utility pole or light pole owner will allow the facility or strand mounted equipment attached to their pole or strand.
- Obtain all relevant building permits.
- Drawings, plans, and specifications as required in TMC 3-6-300 (4).
- Performance surety as required in TMC 3-6-305.
- Traffic and pedestrian control plans, including temporary traffic control for motorized and non-motorized traffic using the current version of MUTCD Section 6.
- Pay all required license and application fees.
