Weekly Watering Number Available
Since summertime and hot weather seem to be here for awhile longer...do you know how much water your lawn or landscape needs? The Regional Water Conservation Consortium has developed the "Weekly Watering Number" to assist.
The greatest waste of water is watering too much, too often. The Regional Water Providers Consortium's website has lots of good information on how to use your water efficiently this summer. The Weekly Watering Number is the amount of water in inches your lawn will need each week. It is zip code specific and available for all zip codes within Consortium member’s service areas.
The Weekly Watering Number is published on the Consortium’s conserveh2o.org website each Thursday from April through September. It can be adjusted for plants other than lawn by using the general guidelines outlined here.
The Consortium also sends a weekly e-mail that provides recipients with watering guidelines and links them to the widget so they can see how much they need to water that week. If you are interested in receiving this email you can sign up here.
