August programs for teens
Teen Book Chat Online: Held on the second Wednesday of each month (August 11 this time) at 4:00 PM. To participate, first register using Biblioevents here, then email Aimee at ameuchel@tualatin.gov to receive a free copy of the month's book. August's book for discussion is Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao. Book chat is currently held online using Zoom. For students in grades 8-12.

Take'n'Make a Snake Online: Summer heat making you want to shed your skin? You can make a little snake friend to channel that feeling with our felted snake craft. First, register here to reserve a snake kit to make four slithery… or cuddly… creatures, then come to the library to pick it up on Tuesday, August 3 or later. The kit comes with a link to an instructional video to watch at your convenience. For adults and their families.
Adult Book Discussion Online: Meets on the first Thursday of the month (August 5 this time) at 7:00 PM. Email Kent at kcjohnson@tualatin.gov to participate. The discussion will be held online using Zoom. August's book for discussion is Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano. See here for more information.
Take'n'Bake Carrot Cake: Register here if you want to pick up a free bag of ingredients starting Monday, August 2. (You are also welcome to participate without registering using your own ingredients from home - you can view the complete recipe here.) Then, starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 7, check our city’s YouTube page or the Tualatin Public Library’s official Facebook page for our ‘how-to’ video.
Willamette Valley Chamber Music Festival: The Festival brings together string musicians from coast-to-coast performing chamber works from traditional and contemporary composers. This year's series features works by Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov. Performances are Fridays at 10:30 AM, August 6, 13, and 20. Mr. Golijov will be present for the August 13 performance.

Final Friday Trivia Online: Join us for LIVE Zoom trivia on Friday, August 27 at 6:30 PM. Play at home, alone or with your crew, and compete for trivia supremacy. Four rounds, each with its own theme. Online registration is required to participate; register here.
