The Tualatin Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2008 to seek private support for maintaining the excellence of programs and services offered by the Tualatin Library.

Some recent services provided with Foundation support are:

  • Construction of the Library's Makerspace, through a $100,000 contribution.
  • Funding the Makers in Residence program series in summer 2023.
  • Supporting the Tualatin Library's community literacy efforts through the purchase of books used in Oregon’s “Battle of the Books” for Tualatin elementary, middle, and high schools.

While tax dollars allow the Tualatin Public Library to buy materials and keep the building open, it is often only through private gifts that innovative new programs and services can be offered to meet the community’s changing needs.  The Tualatin Library Foundation’s vision is to increase the endowment fund to ensure that our library can continue to offer quality programs and services.  This will be accomplished by building stronger relationships with individuals, businesses, foundations, grantors and community organizations so that the Library will become the charity of choice for many of its supporters.

You can help the Foundation cultivate resources to enhance Tualatin's library:

Do you use the library on a regular basis? Have your kids done the Summer Reading Program? Do you attend the classes and programs available for free? Do you want to be a part of making sure that the Tualatin Public Library maintains its excellence and is able to adapt to the changing information needs of Tualatin’s residents?

Then consider becoming a member of the Tualatin Library Foundation Board. The Foundation Board meets monthly to determine how best to financially support increased quality of service, materials, and technology of our community's library, plan for future growth opportunities, and coordinate events such as the annual Vine2Wine fundraiser.

A board member serves a three-year term and should be willing to learn the importance of the Foundation and its mission, to work diligently to raise funds supporting current projects, and to help grow a perpetual fund for the Library's future. A background in fundraising and development, marketing, or strategic planning is a plus. The Board is especially interested in new members who are actively involved in the Tualatin community.

Not ready for such a commitment? The Board also seeks individuals to serve on various committees, to assist with short-term or ongoing projects.
