June programs for teens

Teen Book Chat Online (for students in grades 8-12) happens on the second Wednesday of each month (June 9 this time) at 4:00 PM. To participate, first register using Biblioevents here, then email Aimee at ameuchel@tualatin.gov to receive a free copy of the month's book. June's book for discussion is Fire & Heist by Sarah Beth Durst. Book chat is currently held online using Zoom.

Among Us

Teen Among Us! Online: Join us at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 23 as you attempt to prep your spaceship for departure! But beware as one crewmate will be an imposter bent on eliminating everyone!

This program will meet through Zoom. Register here to participate. If you want to be in the same breakout room as your friends, please email Aimee at ameuchel@tualatin.gov to let her know ahead of time. For ages 12-18.

Teen Felted Pizza Online: Love pizza? Feeling stabby? On Wednesday, June 30 at 2:00 PM join these two emotions together to create a beautiful felted pizza!

Take and bake chocolate cake

Take’n’Bake Online: Follow along on Facebook or YouTube starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 5 as Doug shows you how to bake a delicious chocolate cake. Go here to see the recipe; you can register here to pick up a free bag of ingredients beforehand (available at the library starting Monday, May 31) or use your own from home. 

Hand with henna designs

Henna at Home Online:  Join us for this hands-on Zoom henna lesson on Thursday, June 17 at 6:30-8:00 PM! Participants will receive henna cones, pro-tools, a drills and skills packet, design sheet, and 2 design transfers. The Zoom lesson will include some basic shapes and techniques and how-to’s for building your own henna designs or using the design transfers in your kit. Get a little of the joy of henna at the start of summer. For ages 12 and up (adults are welcome!). Go here to register.

Juneteenth, a day of recognition, restoration, celebration

Juneteenth Celebration OnlineThe Metro Race Unity Team presents a discussion of the history of Juneteenth, the significance of Congress's recent proposal for Slavery Remembrance Day, and how and why this day should be celebrated and recognized. Three for Silver

Music on the Plaza - Three for Silver: Three for Silver brings music back to our Library Plaza Friday, June 25 at 2:00 PM. Resonant bass, a combination of growling and sweet voices, and a musical style that moves between blues, jazz, and memories of times long ago. This program will be rescheduled due to the excessive heat expected on June 25, and is now scheduled for Thursday, July 1 at 2 pm.

Final Friday trivia, last Friday of the month, presented by the Tualatin Public Library

Final Friday Trivia Online: Join us for LIVE Zoom trivia on Friday, June 25 at 6:30 PM. Play at home, alone or with your quarantine crew, and compete for trivia supremacy. Four rounds, each with its own theme. Online registration is required to participate; register here.
