Kitchen Science
Using basic household ingredients we’ll do experiments, learn some basics about physics and chemistry and have a blast (sometimes literally!).
The entire playlist is available here. For printable instructions see the Supporting Documents at the bottom of this page.
- Make unspillable water (and no, we're not talking about ice).
- You just need a clear bowl or plastic tub, water, random stuff from around your house, and an orange (or clementine) to play around with density.
- Painting with milk - it's a thing!
- Inflate a balloon using chemistry.
- Make and sink a boat! All you need is some aluminum foil, water, a sink or bowl, and pennies to try out your engineering skills.
- Make pepper dance! Use pepper, water, dish soap, and a paperclip to demonstrate hydrophobia and surface tension.
- Action at a distance? Try performing static magic and decide for yourself.
- Make walking water.
- Make... a baggie? How about an exploding one?
- Make a magic penny disappear - with science!
- Go retro! Make your own lava lamp.
- For goodness' sakes, it's bubble snakes!
- More extremely localized weather phenomena in jars - this time tornados.
- Never mind the moonbeams - carry rainbows home in a jar.
- Make a glitter volcano!
- BATTLE SLIME: An Epic Letting Off STEAM/Kitchen Science Co-Production
- Learn to make a bouncy egg.
