On Saturday, November 26, 2016, at approximately 4:45pm Tualatin Police responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of the Woodridge Apartments, located at 11999 SW Tualatin Road, in Tualatin.
When officers arrived they learned that physical fight between two males resulted in one male getting stabbed in the stomach and buttocks by the other male. The victim of the stabbing was taken to Meridian Park Hospital by friends, prior to police arrival. Meridian Park Hospital later transferred the victim to Emmanuel Hospital. The suspect was no longer at the scene when police arrived.
Tualatin Police obtained statements from witnesses at the scene and the victim at the hospital. Officers and detectives from Tualatin Police Department conducted a follow-up investigation and identified the suspect as Samuel Corey Long, 34 years of age, of Grants Pass.
On December 2, 2016, Tualatin Detectives received information that led them to Mr. Long’s whereabouts in Portland. With the assistance of Portland Police Bureau, Tualatin Detectives took Mr. Long into custody without incident. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail where he was charged with first degree aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon. A booking photo can be obtained through the jail.
