Shop With a Cop
Check out what we've been up to! Our officers and members of the Tualatin Community Police Foundation (TUCPF) had the pleasure of taking Tualatin area school children shopping at the local Fred Meyer store. School counselors assisted in selecting the children for the event. Each child was paired up with a police officer and a member of the Tualatin Community Police Foundation (TUCPF), then given money to purchase clothing and shoes. Due to the generous discount provided by Fred Meyer, in addition to the amazing sales already taking place, these kids were able to walk away with some great items for themselves and their siblings. Thanks Fred Meyer!
The purpose of the event is to foster positive relationships between underprivileged youth and police officers.
Shop With a Cop is a nationally known program throughout the United States. It provides an opportunity for police officers to engage young people in a positive environment and helps build relations with community members that are unable to afford kid's school clothing and holiday gifts due to financial restraints.
This program was organized and made possible in Tualatin by the Tualatin Community Police Foundation (TUCPF). For more information on the Shop With a Cop program and ways you can donate, email the TUCPF Board or Tualatin Police Chief Greg Pickering.
