Veterans Plaza Brick Program:

As construction continues for the upgrade to Veteran's Plaza, members of the Tualatin community have a special opportunity to be a part of it. If you have a loved one you'd like to honor, whether they served or supported someone else's service, you can now order a customized brick that will be installed in the plaza. The Brick Order Form can be found below.

Tree Removal InformationThe City of Tualatin planted over 2,700 trees, native plants and shrubs over the past year, throughout our community. We anticipate a similar number of plantings in the year ahead and each year into the future. We’re committed to, and pride ourselves on fulfilling our commitments as Tree City USA and our Climate and Natural areas goals, while also managing unhealthy and hazardous trees within our many acres of parks and natural areas throughout the City.

The east side of Tualatin Commons surface and landscape are at end of lifespan and in need of renovation. When a certified arborist identifies diseased, rotting, poor condition, or end of lifespan trees in parks and public plazas they are removed. Trees at Tualatin Commons will be replanted along with vegetation that is drought tolerant and climate resilient. A new smart irrigation system is expected to keep the trees in good condition and prevent disease. The City prides itself as a Tree City USA, and follows international arboriculture standards while managing Tualatin’s community forest.

Next Steps: We are excited to share Paul Brothers Inc. was selected for the construction phase of this project and the east side of the plaza is currently under construction. The project will be substantially completed in the fall of 2024 (by Pumpkin Regatta).

Service Inspired Art Selection: After reviewing 42 submissions from artists across the country, the Veterans Plaza Service-Inspired Art Selection Committee chose sculptor Douwe Blumberg for all three public art pieces at the plaza. More information about the process, as well as renderings of the proposed sculptures are included in the Veterans Plaza- Service Inspired Art file below.
