DUII Crash Shuts Down Highway 99W in Tualatin
On Monday, November 26, 2012, at approximately 1:12pm, Tualatin Police Officers responded to a crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of SW Cipole Road and Highway 99W, in Tualatin.
When officers arrived, they learned that the driver of a white 2011 Toyota Rav 4, identified as Kathie Watson, 53 years of age, of Tualatin, was travelling southbound on SW Cipole Road. Watson failed to stop for the red light and t-boned a black 2006 Hyundai Accent that was travelling westbound on Hwy 99W. The impact caused Watson’s vehicle to rotate and strike a second vehicle, a silver 2006 Hyundai Elantra, also travelling westbound on Hwy 99W.
The drivers of the second and third vehicles were not injured. Watson suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to OHSU. All three vehicles were towed from the scene. The crash closed westbound Hwy 99W for approximately 45 minutes during the investigation.
Watson was issued a citation for DUII.
Tualatin Police ask drivers to be responsible this holiday season and don’t drink and drive.
