Juvenile Arrested for Armed Robbery
On Sunday, November 27, 2016, at approximately 9:00pm Tualatin Police responded to a report of a robbery at knife-point that occurred on the walking path between Cabela’s and the Heron’s Landing Apartments, located at 18540 SW Boones Ferry Road, in Tualatin.
When officers arrived they learned that a female victim was walking along the path towards the Heron’s Landing Apartment complex when a Hispanic male, 16 years of age, of Tualatin, approached her with a knife and demanded her bags. The male realized he was seen by witnesses and ran away from the scene without the bags. The victim sustained minor scratches to her back during the incident.
Washington County Sheriff’s K9 and deputies, as well as officers from Tigard Police Department assisted Tualatin Police in a search for the suspect. He was seen running nearby by officers and taken into custody without incident. The victim positively identified the suspect. He was lodged at Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center where he was charged with attempted first degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated assault.
Nothing further at this time.
