Traffic Enforcement Detail Results
The Tualatin Police hosted a four (4) hour traffic enforcement/education detail on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 between the hours of 7:30am and 11:30am.
During that time the Tigard and Sherwood Police Departments assisted the Tualatin Police with the enforcement.
The detail focused on seatbelt use, cell phone use, failure to obey traffic control devices, unsafe/un-signaled lane changes, speeding, and misuse of continuous left-turn lanes. Enforcement efforts took place in various locations throughout the city. The effort was to focus on education through enforcement.
A total of 38 traffic stops were made throughout the event, resulting in 28 citations and 9 warnings being issued. One arrest was made for throwing burning material from a vehicle. There were 17 citations issued for drivers using cell phones while driving, 4 seat belt citations, and 3 expired license plate citations. Additionally, 1 citations were issued for failing to use a turn signal, 1 citation for failing to obey a traffic control device, 1 citation for operating a vehicle without required lighting, and 1 citation for driving uninsured.
Tualatin Police encourage drivers to remain vigilant and to obey Oregon traffic laws.
