Tualatin Police See Rise in Propane Tank Thefts
Tualatin Police have seen a rise in thefts of propane tanks over the past week.
On two separate dates, Tualatin Police have responded to reports of stolen propane tanks. The first report was of a tank stolen from a truck parked near a business on SW Bridgeport Road. The second was from the True Value Hardware store, located at 8460 SW Nyberg Road, where nine propane tanks were stolen from a secured tank storage locker in front of the store.
At this time there is no surveillance footage or suspect information available. Police are concerned that the rise in thefts of these tanks could possibly be linked to the manufacturing of hash oil.
Tualatin Police ask anyone with any information regarding these incidents or a possible suspect description to contact 503-691-4800.
Citizens and business owners are encouraged to take extra steps to ensure that propane tanks are secured and not easily accessible.
