Hot Dogs Are For Barbecues Not Cars!
Even on moderately warm days, temperatures inside the car can be 40 degrees warmer than outside!
Many states, including Oregon have laws that prohibit leaving an animal unattended in a motor vehicle under dangerous conditions, which includes hot days. ORS 167.325 - Animal Neglect II and ORS 167.330 - Animal Neglect I. Under these laws, police and animal control officers may be authorized to enter a vehicle by whatever means necessary to remove the animal. You could have your car damaged, be charged with a crime, fined and/or jailed. It is NOT worth it. Please, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET IN THE CAR!
If you see a dog in distress please contact Tualatin Police Dispatch at (503) 629-0111 or in the case of an emergency call 9-1-1.
