Pedestrian Hit by Car; Critically Injured
On Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at approximately 8:30pm, Tualatin officers responded to a report of a male struck by a car on SW Boones Ferry Road near Siletz Drive, in Tualatin.
The victim, a white male, 18 years of age, of Tualatin, was walking westbound, crossing SW Boones Ferry Road, in a marked crosswalk at the time of the incident. The driver of the car was identified as Joseph Dean Burnham, 55 years of age, of Tualatin. Mr. Burnham was driving southbound on SW Boones Ferry Road when his vehicle struck the victim in the crosswalk.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to OHSU, where he is listed in critical condition.
The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation.
Alcohol may have been a factor in this crash. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
