Pokémon Go Etiquette
The warmer weather has finally arrived and it’s the perfect time to get out and get some exercise and enjoy outdoor activities with friends and family. One new way to accomplish this is to play Pokémon Go. You might have seen others around Tualatin doing the same. The game can be a positive, healthy, fun experience for you to enjoy with your friends and family if done so in the right setting, using proper etiquette. Here are a few dos and don’ts to keep in mind when playing Pokémon Go in Tualatin.
Dos
- Be mindful of where you are walking at all times.
- Be respectful of other people’s property and landscaping.
- Be friendly to others.
- Be mindful of when parks and other recreation areas close for the day.
- Trust your instincts and put your phone away if the time isn’t appropriate to have it out.
- Buy goods from the restaurants and stores that you enter and tip extra if you stay longer than the average customer.
- Actually read the information that the Poke Stop has to tell you. You might learn a lot about Tualatin from this game!
Don’ts
- Don’t trespass.
- Don’t loiter in front of storefronts, preventing other paying customers from entering.
- Don’t be intrusive to others around you.
- Don’t walk in front of moving vehicles or bicycles.
- Don’t ignore signs or enter areas that are marked restricted.
- Don’t drive and play at the same time.
Happy hunting from your friends at the Tualatin Police Department.
