Tualatin Police Respond to Suicide, Drugs Found
On April 3, 2014, at approximately 9:20am, Tualatin Police responded to a request for a welfare check at 9563 SW Arikara Drive, in Tualatin. As officers were responding to the call, witnesses reported hearing a gunshot.
When officers arrived, they found a deceased adult male on the front porch of the house. After further investigation, officers found evidence that the person died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. When officers entered the house to check for any other victims, evidence of illegal drug manufacturing was found. The Washington County Clandestine Lab Team and the TVF&R HazMat Unit were called to assist with processing the scene, ensuring it was safe.
During the incident, SW Arikara was closed between SW Boones Ferry Road and SW Columbia for approximately four hours.
This is still an ongoing investigation and the deceased’s name is not being released at this time in order to allow time for family notifications.
