UPDATE - VICTIM AND SUSPECT IDENTIFIED IN TUALATIN HOMICIDE
In the early morning hours of June 23, 2012, Tualatin Police Officers responded to the Tualatin Meadows Apartments, located at 18755 SW 90th Avenue in Tualatin on a call of a disturbance.
Upon arrival, Officers located a deceased female on the front lawn of the complex.
Moments later, Officers were confronted by a male subject who was armed with two knives. The male was contacted by officers, and was taken into custody.
The following information has been learned at this time;
The victim has been identified as Kiorinta Edmond, 31, of Tualatin. She appears to have died from homicidal violence.
The subject who has been arrested is Lujar Philippo, 44, of Tualatin. Mr. Philippo has been charged Murder and Assault in the First Degree. A booking photo of Mr. Philippo will be available through the Washington County Jail.
Investigators do not know what the motive was for this incident.
The investigation also revealed that the Tualatin Police had contact with the victim earlier in the evening. Tualatin Officers responded to the complex at around midnight to investigate a hit and run traffic crash. It is believed that Mr. Philippo may have been involved in a traffic crash in the parking lot of the complex, and had fled the scene. Officer contacted Ms. Edmond outside of her apartment, which she shares with Philippo. She allowed them inside to look for Mr. Philippo, but he was not located. During the hit and run investigation, there was no indication of any problems or issues between the suspect and victim.
The Tualatin Police, with the assistance of the Washington County Major Crimes Team, and the Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) continue to investigate this incident.
No further information at this time.
